FAQ

This FAQ will answer some of the current questions being asked about CP USA.

Why Does America Need The Conservative Party?

The Conservative Party is needed to help rectify the consistent failures and corruption of the current two major parties.

Specifically, the Republicans and Democrats (“Republi-Dems”) have conspired to allow the Federal government to incur a $14 Trillion national debt, been corrupted by special interest groups, gorged themselves on Pork and Earmarks, failed to curb illegal immigration and increased the specter of socialism and loss of individual liberty by promoting an ever-expanding role of the Federal government.

What is the Mission of the Conservative Party?

Our Mission is to re-establish the limits and boundaries of Government as framed by the Founding Fathers of the United States of America and to:

Protect individual rights and freedoms set forth in the Constitution
Limit the scope of Federal and State government as defined therein
Stop the abuse and corruption of the two major parties.
Provide true conservatives with a strong grass roots support base that empowers them to formulate a genuine conservative agenda and to articulate those views without reservation.

What’s the difference between the Conservative Party and Republicans?

The Republican Party has consistently failed to uphold conservative principles on so many levels during the past 20 years it can no longer be considered a legitimate representative of traditional American conservative values. The GOP has lost its core values and lacks real leadership or vision.

The Conservative Party provides a genuine and unambiguous Conservative platform, doesn’t marginalize Conservatives and will exert a much needed rightward pull on the electorate.

Shouldn’t conservatives make the GOP return to its conservative roots?

That has been tried repeatedly for the past 20 years without success. The GOP is riddled with RINO’s (Republican In Name Only) who have a “big tent” mentality that puts appealing to the media and reaching across the aisle ahead of retaining conservative principles or values.

Trying to change the GOP is like drilling holes in water because they don’t stand for anything except getting elected. AZ Senator John McCain, FL Governor Charlie Crist, SC Senator Lindsey Graham  and PA’s Senator Arlen Specter are perfect examples of this malady.

Why don’t Conservative Republicans win more primaries?

Conservatives are generally shunned by the GOP leadership since it doesn’t share conservative values and principles. As a result, Conservatives do not get as much GOP funding and operational support.  Conservatives are also discouraged from running in the first place because GOP is afraid it will lose the general election to moderates.

Won’t the Conservative Party make it easy for Democrats to win?

No.  The Conservative Party endorses true conservative candidates from another Party when we don’t have a candidate in a race and if the candidate signs our State Candidate’s Pledge.  Examples: the Conservative Party (CA) recently endorsed Republicans like Chuck DeVore for the U.S. Senate, Larry Naritelli for Governor and Star Parker for the U.S. House (37th District).  In Connecticut, we endorsed Rick Torres for the 4th District.

In addition, Conservative Party incumbents, when elected, will caucus with Republicans when/if the bill conforms to our principles.

Will the Conservative Party change the Two-Party System?

Yes.  America can no longer continue with “business as usual”.  The current two-party system is riddled with corruption and self-serving incompetence. The evidence is clear: Spiraling national debt; Continued use Earmarks (Pork); Misuse of tax payer money for personal gain; Tax evasions; And undue influence of special interest groups.

The two major parties are complicit in these abuses and will continue them unless stopped by the Conservative Party.

How can the Conservative Party get majorities in the House of Senate?

The Conservative Party does not need to get majorities in the either chamber to be effective.  All we need is to gain solid, cohesive minorities in local, state and national legislatures to stop the duplicity and corruption of the two major parties.  Just two Conservative Senators would have killed “ObamaCare” while only five Conservative House members would have stopped the “Cap & Trade”.  America can no longer afford this two-party corruption.

How is the Conservative Party different from the other parties?

The Conservative Party is unambiguously fiscally and socially conservative in all aspects. The Party’s values are clearly reflected in our Platform and we require all candidates it endorses to sign our Candidate’s Pledge affirming those values.

The RNC refuses to support a similar Pledge promoted by conservative elements their party because it might alienate some their moderate base. Of course Democrats believe in bigger government and have no such litmus tests.

Will the Tea Party Movement help the Conservative Party?

Yes. The Tea Party (TPN) is a grass roots movement that essentially holds the same values of the Conservative Party.  While Tea Party supporters generally support Republicans, they will gradually realize the GOP does not share all of their values and is using the TPN to get elected.  All of TPN’s passion and energy will be wasted on the RNC in the long run.  The Conservative Party, however, is built on a solid foundation of values rather than personalities or fads and will be ready to accept TPN’s support when they are ready.

What’s the basic Official Platform of the Conservative Party?

CP-USA’s Platform clearly reflects its conservative Principles, Tenets and respect for America’s traditional family values. These concepts include: The federal government must abide by the Constitution; The primary duty of the President is to protect America from its enemies, both foreign and domestic; Veterans must be honored and supported for their sacrifices; Marriage is between one man and one woman; Life begins at conception; Budget Earmarks must be eliminated and fiscal discipline restored; Illegal immigration must be stopped; Healthcare must include meaningful Tort Reform.

How old is the Conservative Party?

The CPUSA started in January 2009 and has its headquarters in Baton Rouge, LA.  The Party is structured as a National Party with 50 semi-independent State Affiliates.  As of August 2010, CP-USA has 15 Affiliates and more than 2,500 members nationwide.
